Somatic Support Sessions
At Soul Care Chiropractic, we have a deep appreciation for the connection between the body and mind. We see how tension from the mind, shows up in the body and leaves its mark on our lives.
To support you in a world that can often feel overwhelming, we offer Somatic Support Sessions — a series of appointments designed to support nervous system regulation through gentle, body-based care.
What is Somatic Care?
Somatic Care refers to techniques that use body-based mindfulness, breath awareness and gentle movements to help your nervous system’s natural ability to regulate and recover.
We know that the body and mind are deeply connected. Stress, trauma and persistent pain can leave the nervous system in protective patterns that are difficult to shift through talking alone. Traditional talk therapies work primarily through "top-down" regulation—helping the brain create new understanding and responses that influence the body. While this can be incredibly valuable, some people also benefit from a "bottom-up" approach that works through the body itself.
Somatic Support bridges the worlds of physical care and psychological support.
How Somatic Support Works
By combining gentle tonal chiropractic adjustments with specific somatic awareness techniques, these sessions create the conditions for the body to unbrace - releasing layers of held tension and supporting the nervous system to move towards greater regulation, safety and connection.
Designed to complement the care you may already be receiving from your psychologist, counsellor or other healthcare practitioners, Somatic Support Sessions offer a gentle, body-based approach that can become an important part of your overall wellbeing.
Somatic Support Sessions may be helpful for people experiencing:
Chronic pain or persistent muscle tension
Ongoing stress or burnout
Anxiety or a constantly "switched on" nervous system
Trauma-related patterns of tension or hypervigilance
Nervous system dysregulation
A desire to complement their psychological care with a body-based approach

Dr Simon's Approach
Dr Simon, founder of Heart School, brings a depth of knowledge through his exploration of body intelligence, tension patterns and the way they are expressed through the nervous system. Blending his chiropractic background with additional training in somatic awareness, Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE®) and yin yoga, his considered approach invites you to get curious within. This work continues to evolve through the development of Spinal Movement De-bracing & Re-bracing (SMDR) — an emerging framework that explores how the body can gently unbrace from protective patterns and rediscover more ease, movement and connection.

Elevator pitch
These sessions focus on using body-based tools – breath, awareness, gentle movements alongside gentle chiropractic to help nervous system regulate and rebalance around chronic tension and emotional stress
Will they be adjusted?
If its appropriate – its more likely any adjustments will be gentle and as a supportive action rather than the key focus.
If a patient doesn't want to be adjusted, we'll tailor the session using other approaches that best support their needs.
Extra
Less of a structural focus, more of a mood & wellbeing focus.
Helping your body unbrace, so your nervous system can do the same.
Sometimes healing isn't about doing more, it's about creating the space for your body to feel safe enough to let go.
